Hurvinek small marionette is a famous Czech character known for his theatre performances with his father Spejbl. A cute, playful, and funny boy indeed!
The puppets in this category represent the Czech tradition in puppet making. These are mostly small series cast puppets, which are then hand decorated by sewing and painting.
Hurvinek was created to be Spejbl´s only child. Hurvinek first appeared on stage together with Spejbl in an encore to the evening performance of the comedy "Honest House" by Rudolf Nesvera played in the Pilsen Puppet Theatre on May 2nd, 1926. The present figures of Spejbl and Hurvinek were made in 1964 based on a design of Radko Haken, a famous member of the ensemble. His design added more poetical features to the original grotesque figures.
Please, note that each marionette is an original piece of art and it may slightly differ from the pictures above. For example the clothes or the hair colour may be different, depending on the availability of the materials.
Amazing little puppet and brilliant speedy post !! Thank you my daughter loves it !
We ordered this for my daughter for her birthday and she absolutely loves it! There was some confusion with the package when it was delivered through no fault of the company, but the seller was so helpful in tracking down the package for us and making sure it arrived. We would buy from CzechMarionettes again!
